Dog Walker, Kennel Caretaker

Responsibilities:

• Walk and exercise rescue dogs rain or shine

• Clean and sanitize kennels

• Ensure every dog has fresh food and water

• Monitor dogs’ well-being and report any concerns to rescue staff

• Show up consistently and on time for scheduled shifts

Qualifications:

• Must be dependable and able to commit to a consistent schedule

• Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and energy levels

• Willing to perform physical tasks and work outdoors in all weather

• Previous animal care experience is a plus but not required.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Reliable transportation to North Longview (near Satterwhite Homes)

• Able to commit to a consistent schedule (weekdays or weekends)

• Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments

• Willing to work rain or shine, mornings and evenings

• Physically able to walk multiple dogs, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform cleaning tasks

• Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy (the dogs rely on you every day!)

Preferred but Not Required:

• Previous experience in animal care (shelter, boarding, vet clinic, grooming, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of dog behavior and handling

• Ability to notice changes in dogs’ health or behavior and communicate with staff

• Comfort with basic cleaning supplies and kennel sanitation practices
